In the beginning there was the idea of designing the perfect travel bag. We sought the essence of travel in the past, when travel was still a real adventure. The result is a dream of a travel bag. A tribute to the true soul of travel. Travel culture in its purest and most original form. Based on the iconic basic shape of the travel bag, which originated in Duffle, a city in Belgium, in the 18th century. Living history with many authentic and practical details.
The weekender »David« is a sporty travel bag for longer weekend trips of up to 7 days. The bag can be slung casually over the shoulder or carried elegantly by hand on the leather strap. It is particularly easy to open and fill. The leather straps on the side can be detached for additional storage space of up to 80 litres.
The bag is of high quality. All wear points are lined with leather on the outside. All stress points are additionally reinforced. The bottom of the bag is padded and elegantly quilted in "diamond stitch". Our DRAKENSBERG signature element.

Leather is a natural material and may have small imperfections. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This complex process makes our products unmistakable. No bag can be exactly like another. Small color deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and not a sign of poor quality.

We only use the finest of hides that are subjected to only a minimum of chemical processes to leave them exceptionally smooth and natural in look and feel. Water repellent premium canvas and our cotton lining fabrics, combining with solid brass and copper hardware-materials chosen not only for their character but for their endurance. However, the exact number of days may vary depending on whether you pack summer or winter clothes. Unfortunately, the Canvas Weekender »David« (L) does not meet the standard hand luggage dimensions of most airlines. However, so far we have not had any problems taking it on board as long as it is not completely full. Nevertheless, we recommend the smaller version for hand luggage, the Canvas Weekender »David« (M). This more compact version fits better with the airline regulations. For comparison: The Canvas Weekender »David« (L) offers a capacity of 60 liters and a total length of 59 cm, which makes it perfect for trips of 5-7 days. The more compact version, the Canvas Weekender »David« (M), is 55 cm long and has a capacity that is sufficient for 3-4 days.
